Postpartum Doula
Traditionally, when women gave birth they had the support of many women to help them care for their newborn baby for several weeks or even months. In our society today it is the norm for new mothers to find themselves alone at home with a new baby, either immediately or often within a week of giving birth. This is often a difficult time for new moms, and is also a very important time for developing that special bond with your baby. The risk of postpartum mood disorders is proven to be higher in women who have little or no support during the early weeks after birth.
We are sorry, but daytime support is not available at this time.
Please feel free to contact me for a referral to a daytime postpartum doula in your area.
It is impossible to predict what your baby's sleep habits will be.
For many new moms (and Dads too!), sleep deprivation is a factor which is often overlooked. Lack of sleep can lead to increased incidence of Postpartum Mood
Disorders and lack of confidence in your abilities as new parents. For this reason, Mia Bella Mamma offers overnight doula support. Your doula will come to
your house in the evening, help you establish good night-time routines for yourself and baby, and provide infant care throughout the night while you get some much
needed rest. This support is fully compatible with breastfeeding relationships as well.
Overnight support is $30 per hour with a 6 hour minimum. Packages are also available. Please contact me for more
information and package prices.
