Postpartum Doula
Traditionally, when women gave birth they had the support of many women to help them care for their newborn baby for several weeks or even months. In our society today it is the norm for new mothers to find themselves alone at home with a new baby, either immediately or often within a week of giving birth. This is often a difficult time for new moms, and is also a very important time for developing that special bond with your baby. The risk of postpartum mood disorders is proven to be higher in women who have little or no support during the early weeks after birth.
As your Postpartum Doula, I can provide you with physical and emotional support you need in the early weeks. I will also provide resources and referrals to outside sources of support within your community.
