About Me

LeeAnne's story.....

LeeAnne has been in the “business of birth and babies” since 1997, when she gave birth to her first son. After an wonderful pregnancy and birth experience, she became passionate about growing her family, and went on to have two more children. Three very different birth experiences later, LeeAnne started her journey of learning everything she could about pregnancy and birth, in the hopes of one day being able to put her knowledge to good use. Unexpectedly, in what would soon become her final year of her fifteen year teaching profession, it was very generously pointed out that LeeAnne was a Doula at heart! What an empowering moment that was!

LeeAnne has since become certified through Childbirth International as a Labour Doula, Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator; and through Ontario Perinatal School as a Caesarean & VBAC Specialist. LeeAnne enjoys sharing her knowledge with others through her Prepared Childbirth Classes, and has developed a unique Prepared Caesarean Childbirth class as well. In addition, she has an avid interest and experience in home birth, water birth, breastfeeding, birth photography, postpartum support with multiples and building good infant sleep habits.

With her mind never at rest, LeeAnne continues in her ongoing effort to increase her knowledge and her options for supporting clients, and is currently pursuing certification as a Breastfeeding Counselor/Educator, as well as Hynobirthing Support training. LeeAnne also lends volunteer labour support to St. Martin’s Manor, a residence for pregnant teens in the Hamilton community. When she is not “doula-ing”, LeeAnne enjoys building memories with her family, cottaging, quilting, photography and baking.
